Situated on the island of Krøttøya in Troms, Meløyvær Fortress is one of the popular attractions near Harstad. It was an essential part of the Cold War defence system that gathered strategic significance to NATO. The fortress is home to a 120mm Bofor gun, the last of its kind in Norway.
The construction of the fortress has been maintained in good condition to this date. A view from the top gives you a chance to view the beautiful coastline against crystal clear waters.
